National Flag & Naval Jack [Ratio 1:2]
Britain's flag has remained unchanged since it was introduced on 1 January 1801. It replaced a similar design but added the red saltire for Ireland. It's nickname, "Union Jack", comes from its use by the Royal Navy as their jack.

Naval Ensign [Ratio 1:2]
The British "White Ensign" has been the ensign of the Royal Navy since 1865. Until then the Royal Navy had three ensigns, one for each of the red, blue and white squadrons. During World War II the navies of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa all flew the British naval ensign.

Civil Ensign [Ratio 1:2]
The civil ensign was introduced in 1865, having been the ensign of the red squadron of the Royal Navy until then.
