Welcome
to the World Flag Database
This site provides images and detailed information on the flags of every country in the world. I go to a lot of trouble to make sure that the flag images are up-to-date so that you can have accurate information.
Flagwaver - our first iPhone and iPad App!
|
At long last we have produced our first App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. We have teamed up with Planetary Code in California to produce a simple but elegant App that allows you to 'fly' your favourite flag on your screen. It uses a combination of 3D rendering and accurate flag images to produce beautiful waving flags that you can interact with. The App comes with a good set of flags to get you started:
National Flags: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK (including England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) and USA
International Flags: The European Union
Military Flags: US Army, US Air Force, US Navy (including the First Jack), US Marines and US Coast Guard
US State Flags: California and Ohio (to demonstrate a non-rectangular flag)
If the flag you want isn't in the basic set you can buy inexpensive add-on packs that include the national flags of all the world's countries. The level of detail even goes to the reverse of the flag, if you rotate the waving flag you will see the correct image on the back, even if that is a completely different design, such as Oregon's State Flag, or the inscription on Saudi Arabia.
You can download the App from the App Store, just click on the button on the right. Enjoy!

This is a complete list of all the countries, territories and sub-national regions covered by the database. There are over 260 pages on countries and international organizations. Each page contains basic information on the country, including its formal name, capital city, area, population, currency, languages, and religions. The flags include the national and state flags, ensigns, and sub-national flags.
Probably the fastest way to find a country is to use the individual alphabetic indices. These include miniature versions of each country's flag. To see the countries starting with a particular letter click on the letters on the left. If you can't find the place you want, try the complete index instead.
We recommend the
United States Flag Store, the largest online vendor of
flags and
flagpoles, as the best supplier of flags in the USA. The site has recently moved from
www.united-states-flag.com to
www.onlinestores.com. They offer the widest range of flags of any merchant, with an inventory of over 500,000 flags. They stock the flags of over 200 countries, all 50 US states, as well as all US military, decorative and historical flags. All flags are available in a range of different sizes and fabrics. Throughout the site flags have a "Buy" button below them that will take you straight to a page to purchase that flag. Most order ship in less than 1 business day, and flags can be shipped worldwide. This flag store can also produce any flag on a custom flag basis.
